This is anti diabetic oral medicine for non-insulin dependent patients.

The two drugs in Glibend-M act complementary to each other. Gliclazide reduces blood glucose levels by correcting both defective insulin secretion and peripheral insulin resistance. Metformin acts as an anti-hyperglycemic agent by improving hepatic and peripheral tissue sensitivity to insulin, thus enhancing glucose uptake & utilization. Metformin therapy is not associated with increase in body weight. However, it normalizes weight in overweight patients.

Preparation : Each uncoated tablet contains: Gliclazide BP 80mg, Metformin Hydrochloride BP 500 mg

Adverse Effects : Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, Dizziness, confusion, sweating, rash, weakness.

Contraindications : Diabetic coma, IDDM, severe ketoacidosis, severe renal or hepatic, dysfunction, dehydration.

Packing : 10 x 10 blisters (100 Tablets) packed in a multi-colored laminated thick paper box and 40 such boxes packed in export worthy carton. Loose tablets are also available packed in plastic bottles as per customer’s requirement.
